Antarctic History
Everyone that goes to Antarctica becomes part of it's history. I became interested in the history of people in Antarctica during my first winter at Casey Station. Nearby is the old IGY station Wilkes. I wondered what it was like living in that station. The first year they were there, what did they think as the winter set in and wind got stronger and stronger. There is a lot of personal and little known history out there. Here is some of it for all of us to wonder what it would have been like to go to Antarctica in the good old days.
- Wilkes Station An original IGY Station built by the USAP.

- ANARE Expeditioners 1948-1997
- Amundsen Scott - South Pole. I haven't had a chance to edit my material for this page. For now I recommend the unoffical history of the South Pole by Bill Spindler.
