TITLE:
DESCRIPTION: An aerial view of the west side of Wilkes Station, Antarctica, located on Clark Peninsula at 66°15'S, 110°33'E. Wilkes Station was one of seven U.S. research stations built for the International Geophysical Year (IGY), 1957-1958. The U.S. turned Wilkes Station over to Australia in 1959. Several years later Australia built a new facility 2 km away and renamed it Casey Station.
