The ship arrived back in Melbourne on 20 February before being delivered back to Dumont d'Urville on 4 March. It conducted the relief of Wilkes and assisted in preparations for the closure of Davis. The site was prepared and construction of the replacement station for Wilkes, 1.8km south of Wilkes, was commenced.
