Leaving on 11 February she arrived 130 km off Wilkes on 16 February. An aerial flight visited Chick Island to establish a new automatic weather station. At Mawson Mrs Nel Law, a passenger on the voyage, became the first woman to visit the AAT and Terre Adelie. The ship visited Dumont d'Urville, explored Oates Land and called at Macquarie Island on the return passage. A coastal survey was conducted from Wilkes to Oates Land.
